|
Friday, 22 January 2010 00:00 |
Yesterday no Cinchcasts because of the pouring rain. Today only Cinchcasts, no Internet.
Summary:
Beautiful day, the Georgia State Police are interested in the run, Dave helped pick the right fork in the road at a tricky intersection, getting in the groove.

Rained hard all night and the whole 25 miles today. Cleared up about 1/2 hour before finishing.
Tough day, my body is trying to get used to the grind. A bad day running across America is still better than good day at work, for me.

Well cotton lined both sides of road today as it must fall off the trucks going down the road. A few dogs, don't know how many, were barking angrily around me at 5:00 am this morning. It was black out I never got to see them, it doesn't get light til 7:00 am here, I sprayed pepper spray and said: go lay down, and I just kept running, scary moment light or dark.
Other than that nice day, 26 miles again today. Stopped 8 miles from our motel today and will be about 16 miles past Tifton tomorrow.

Pine tress everywhere, cold mornings then hot. 122.6 miles so far in 5 days.

People have been inquiring about running a portion of route, I start at 5:00 am and run til 1:00 pm I will be on route 82 west for 1800 miles. Anyone who wants to run come on out I run same pace in an Ultra run like this you are running much slower than your everyday pace or normal marathon pace. You are running for tomorrow not today.

Stopped 30 miles short of Tifton today and will stop about 4 miles short, so I will be 22 miles past Tifton the next day and 48 miles past the next. I do like Rt 82 so far.

Well I finally got an appetite and I craved the food I hate the most, Pasta! I never eat it but your body tells you what you need on a run like this. It helped, I ran strong today.
Ok here are the totals after 4 days running.
Day 1 26.2 miles Day 2 24.2 (in the right direction) Day 3 20 miles Day 4 26.2 Total- 96.6 Miles.
I will say goodbye to "G" tomorrow. My support driver who has done all of my runs, Montana, Wisconsin, and across the United States in 2005 came out. "G" a world record holder, a man who ran 100 miles in less than 24 hours, is leaving tommorrow. I will miss him! He has made this run possible by always being ready to go when Dave wasn't, Thank You "G"
