Not much to see, today was cold and windy. My kind of running, I am a cold weather runner. I don't like running in snow, but my weakness is heat so I am already thinking about when I go across the Mojave Desert.

Only 25 miles today as my shin splint needs rest, it is painful but at least my ankle is slowly healing. I have never had shin splints, I dont like them. I know I got it on that leg because I was hitting it wrong because of my sprained ankle. Don Shepard a former transcon runner wrote he had to walk for two weeks in army boots until his shin splints healed. He crossed in 73 days. That's 45 miles a day!
No traffic I ran right on the road and hit soft and flat without having to jump off road, then I remembered its Saturday less traffic.

Well 26 miles 560 6/10 miles so far. I met a man who is homeless because his house burnt down and he left Utah and is heading to South Carolina, I gave him $20.00 and Dave gave him dog food for his dog. He stole my lunch that was stashed on the side of the road and I don't blame him. He sleeps outside but last night he got a free room at a local motel,

I liked his 500 lb trailer he was pulling 30 to 50 miles a day with his bike.

The gas picture was at 25 miles and that is when I am really out of gas!

Well 26 more miles towards my goal today. But still way short on donations so far, I am sure it will pick up. I did a TV interview today, Channel 4 WCBI News here in Columbus, Mississippi. I don't know what it turned out like I was too busy to watch. A lot to do after run everyday. Never enough rest or sleep. Its all part of it though. Rained all day, busy traffic but a nice shoulder. Bought heating pad for shin and ankle problem tonight I hope with icing and heat it will help. It will rain all day tomorrow also, but that doesn't bother me like it used to.

Well another 26 miles 508 6/10 miles so far 20 days. Crossed into Mississippi at my 21 mile mark. Nice shoulder after first 5 miles.

I got a inspiring call today, and thought about my Grandparents when I did the sun came out and I felt them looking down on me. I need to fix this ankle I may take a few days off. I showed Dave today and he freaked out. Then I did. |

Well 26 more tough miles today.Had an interview with the Tuscaloosa newspaper. I sat for 20 minutes with them at 20 miles and got up stiff and took 1:45 minutes to run last 6 miles.

We are staying in the nicest Motel 6 ever, Sandra is our host and was glad to hear I love this place. Big tub, huge TV, Frige Microwave, granite sinks, desk and dining table!! Worth the $ 39.95 . My biggest supporter from the last run, Dennis Lewis, picked up the tab, and that helps. He will come out when I am in Arkansas and stay a few days. 482 6/10 miles 19 days.
Ankle is a worry I did see beautiful streams and forest but mainly looked down at feet and made sure I stepped right. Just taking it day by day.
